Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from Hermanus, take the N2 highway towards Cape Town. Continue on the N2 for approximately 34 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for R44 towards Betty's Bay. Turn right onto R44 and follow the road for about 15 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs leading to Hangklip. When you reach Hangklip Road, turn right. The lighthouse is located at the end of this road. There is no entrance fee, and parking is available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Hangklip Lighthouse via public transport, take a bus from Hermanus to Kleinmond. Buses operate regularly but check the schedule in advance for accurate times. Once in Kleinmond, you will need to arrange a taxi or ride-sharing service to take you to Hangklip Lighthouse, as there is no direct public transport to the lighthouse itself. The taxi fare may vary, so confirm the cost with the driver beforehand. Alternatively, if you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from Kleinmond, which will take approximately 1-2 hours.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, cycling to Hangklip Lighthouse is a great option. From Hermanus, take the R44 road towards Betty's Bay. The road is scenic but be cautious of traffic. Once you reach Hangklip Road, turn right and continue cycling until you arrive at the lighthouse. Ensure you wear a helmet and follow all road safety rules. This journey will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your cycling speed and stops along the way.
