If you are in the Port Elizabeth Central area, you can easily walk to Prince Alfred's Guard Memorial. Start at the Port Elizabeth City Hall located at 1, Goven Mbeki Ave. Walk south on Goven Mbeki Ave towards the intersection with Park Drive. At Park Drive, turn right and continue walking for approximately 1 km. You will pass the beautiful St. George's Park on your left. The memorial is located within St. George's Park, on Park Drive. Keep an eye out for the memorial as you approach, it will be on your left.

From the Port Elizabeth Central Bus Station, take a bus heading towards 'North End' or 'St. George's Park'. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Request the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to St. George's Park. Once you get off, walk towards Park Drive and enter the park. The Prince Alfred's Guard Memorial is located within the park, just a short walk from the entrance.

If you are renting a bicycle, head towards Park Drive from the Port Elizabeth Central area. Cycling along Goven Mbeki Ave, then turning right onto Park Drive is the best route. Follow Park Drive for about 1 km until you reach St. George's Park. There are bike racks available near the entrance of the park where you can securely park your bicycle before walking to the memorial.
