Starting from Silver Lakes, head southwest on Silver Lakes Drive toward Kismet Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the N4 highway. Cross over the highway using the pedestrian bridge. Once on the other side, take a left onto Pretorius Street. Walk straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Government Avenue. Turn right onto Government Avenue and continue walking for about 1 kilometer. The entrance to Union Buildings Gardens will be on your left.

From Silver Lakes, walk to the nearest bus stop on Silver Lakes Drive. Take Bus Number 18 towards Pretoria City Centre. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes and alight at the Pretoria City Station. From there, walk down Pretorius Street for about 1 kilometer until you reach Government Avenue. Turn left onto Government Avenue, and Union Buildings Gardens will be on your left after another 500 meters.
