Turn left onto the R69, which will lead you to Hlobane District. Follow the signs for Bivane Dam as you approach Vryheid. The dam is located at Bivane Dam, Hlobane District, Vryheid, 3100. Please note that some rural roads may be unpaved, so a vehicle with good clearance may be beneficial.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transport, take a bus from Cape Town or George to Vryheid. Once in Vryheid, you can hire a local taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Bivane Dam. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they can take you directly to the dam, as some may only go to the nearest town. The taxi fare may vary, so be prepared to negotiate the price. It's advisable to travel during daylight hours, as some services may not operate late.
