From the hotel, continue on the main road (Sani Pass road) for approximately 5 km until you reach the parking area at the start of the hiking trail to Tarn Cave. Note that a 4x4 vehicle is necessary to navigate this terrain safely, and there may be a toll fee for using the Sani Pass road, which is around ZAR 50 per vehicle.

    Public Transportation

    Public transportation options are limited in Sani Pass, but you can catch a shuttle or taxi from nearby towns like Himeville. Arrange for a shuttle service that can take you to the Sani Pass Hotel. From there, you will need to hike to Tarn Cave since no public vehicles can access the hiking trail. Ensure to schedule a return trip with the shuttle service, as there are no regular public buses servicing the area.
