From the main Sani Pass road (R617), head southeast towards the Sani Pass border post. Continue along the winding road for approximately 14 kilometers. Keep an eye out for signs indicating The Swamp Nature Reserve and turn left onto the unnamed road at the sign for the reserve. Drive carefully as the road can be narrow and winding. The entrance to The Swamp Nature Reserve is approximately 3 kilometers down this road. There is no entry fee for the reserve, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition as the road can be rough.

Public Transport
If you are using public transport, you can take a minibus taxi from Underberg to the Sani Pass border post. The fare is approximately R50. Once at the border post, you may need to book a local taxi to take you the remaining distance to The Swamp Nature Reserve. Negotiate the fare beforehand – it should be around R150 to R200 for the round trip. Ensure you communicate clearly with the driver about your destination.
