Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any location in the Drakensberg region, head towards the R600 road. Enter the R600 from your current location and follow it south. After approximately 15 km, you will reach a junction where you need to turn left onto Coleford Road (follow the signs for the Amazian Mountain River Lodge). Continue on Coleford Road for about 5 km, and you will find the lodge on your right. Look out for the lodge's signage as you approach.

  If you are using public transportation, start by taking a bus or shuttle service to the nearest major town, such as Underberg. From Underberg, you can hire a taxi or arrange for a local shuttle service to Amazian Mountain River Lodge. Make sure to confirm the ride beforehand, as public transport options may be limited. The direct distance from Underberg to the lodge is about 30 km, and the taxi fare may vary, so budget around R300 to R500 depending on your negotiation and the vehicle used.

  For the adventurous, cycling is an option. From Underberg, take the R600 road towards the south and then turn onto Coleford Road. The ride is approximately 30 km and can take about 2-3 hours depending on your cycling speed. Ensure you have water and snacks, as there are limited stops along the way. Always wear a helmet and be cautious of vehicles.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby and wish to walk to Amazian Mountain River Lodge, you can follow Coleford Road directly from your accommodations. Please note that this is only advisable if you are within a reasonable distance (about 5-10 km). Walking along the road can take 1-2 hours, so plan accordingly and wear comfortable shoes. Be mindful of traffic and stay safe.
