Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Cape Town, take the M3 highway towards Muizenberg. Follow the signs for Muizenberg and take the exit for Ou Kaapse Weg. Continue along Ou Kaapse Weg until you reach the Silvermine Nature Reserve entrance. There is an entrance fee of approximately R30 per vehicle, so be prepared with cash or a card. After entering, follow the signs to the parking area. From the parking lot, take the well-marked trail leading to Muizenberg Peak.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Muizenberg Peak using public transport, take a train from Cape Town to Muizenberg Station. Make sure to check the train schedules in advance. Upon arriving at Muizenberg Station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to Silvermine Nature Reserve. Alternatively, you can walk from Muizenberg Station to the entrance of Silvermine Nature Reserve, which is about a 30-minute walk. Once inside the reserve, there is a small entrance fee of approximately R30 per person. After paying the fee, proceed to the parking area and follow the signs to the trailhead leading to Muizenberg Peak.

• Hiking

  If you are already in the Silvermine Nature Reserve, start your hike from the parking area. The trail to Muizenberg Peak is well-marked and takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to reach the summit. The trail is moderately challenging, so be sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water. Enjoy the beautiful views along the way!
