Car
If you are driving to Jones Gap Falls from anywhere within Caesars Head State Park, begin at the Caesars Head State Park Visitor Center. Head south on Geer Highway (SC-11) for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Jones Gap Road (SC-39). Turn left onto Jones Gap Road. Continue on Jones Gap Road for about 2.5 miles. Look for the Jones Gap State Park entrance on your left. Once you enter the park, follow the signs to the Jones Gap Falls Trailhead. There is a small parking area available, which may fill up quickly on weekends and holidays. A parking fee may apply, so be sure to bring cash or a credit/debit card.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options to reach Caesars Head State Park are limited. If you are traveling from Greenville or Spartanburg, you may need to take a Greyhound or a local bus service to reach the nearest town, then use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft to reach the park. Once at Caesars Head State Park, follow the directions provided for cars to reach the Jones Gap Falls Trailhead. Ensure to check the bus and rideshare availability ahead of time as they may not operate frequently.
Hiking
Once you have parked at the Jones Gap Falls Trailhead, begin your hike by following the Jones Gap Trail. The trailhead is well-marked, and the path is scenic, running alongside the Middle Saluda River. The hike to the falls is approximately 1 mile one-way and is considered moderate in difficulty. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and bring water. Follow the trail markers, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you make your way to Jones Gap Falls.
