    Start on Folly Beach and head northwest on Folly Rd (SC-171 N) toward Charleston. Continue on Folly Rd for approximately 8 miles until you reach the intersection with James Island Connector. Merge onto the James Island Connector, which will lead you to SC-30 E. Continue on SC-30 E, then take the exit toward US-17 S. Follow US-17 S for about 2 miles, and then take a right onto Fort Johnson Rd. Fort Johnson will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but check for any fees or restrictions.

    If you're using public transportation, start by taking the Folly Beach Shuttle (if available) to the nearest bus stop on Folly Rd. From there, transfer to the CARTA bus service. You will want to catch the 40 or 11 bus towards downtown Charleston. Get off at the stop at the intersection of US-17 and Fort Johnson Rd. Walk approximately 0.3 miles down Fort Johnson Rd to reach Fort Johnson. Be sure to check the CARTA schedule for the most current times and routes, as services may vary.
