Bicycle
From your accommodation in Hilton Head Island, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops. Head southeast on William Hilton Parkway (US-278) towards the bridge leading to the mainland. Once you reach the bridge, follow the designated bike path across the bridge. After crossing, continue straight until you reach Tybee Island. Once on Tybee Island, follow Meddin Drive south until you arrive at Fort Screven. Battery Garland will be on your left.

Public Transit (Bus)
Take the Palmetto Breeze bus service from Hilton Head Island to Savannah. Board the bus at the nearest stop to your location (check the schedule for specific stops). Once in Savannah, transfer to the Chatham Area Transit (CAT) bus service. Take the route heading towards Tybee Island. Get off at the nearest stop to Fort Screven, and walk along Meddin Drive until you reach your destination.

If you are staying near the beach area of Hilton Head Island, you can enjoy a scenic walk to Tybee Island. Head towards the nearest beach access point and walk along the shoreline heading towards the south. Follow the beach until you reach the southern tip, where you will find the entrance to Tybee Island. From there, navigate to Meddin Drive and continue walking until you reach Fort Screven.
