    If you're in the central area of Hilton Head Island, start at Coligny Beach Park. From there, head north along South Forest Beach Drive, which turns into North Forest Beach Drive. Continue until you reach the intersection with William Hilton Parkway (US-278). Carefully cross the road and continue on the bike path that leads you to the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. Follow the bike path on the right side of the road to reach the entrance of Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is located on the left side just past the bridge.

    Begin your journey at the nearest bus stop on Hilton Head Island. Take the Breeze Trolley (which operates seasonally) from anywhere on the island to the stop closest to the William Hilton Parkway (US-278). Once you disembark, walk carefully across US-278 to the bike path. Continue walking along the path towards the Pinckney Island entrance, which is located just after crossing the bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. Be mindful of traffic and follow the path leading to the refuge.

    If you are staying in a hotel near the beach, such as the Hilton Head Beach Resort, start walking towards the main road, William Hilton Parkway (US-278). Head towards the bridge on the bike path, which is on the right side of the road. Once you cross the bridge, keep walking straight, and you will find the entrance to Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge on your left. This is a scenic route, so take your time to enjoy the views along the way.
