Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From central Myrtle Beach, head to the nearest bus stop to catch the Coast RTA Route 15. Board the bus heading towards Murrells Inlet. The bus will take you along Highway 17. Keep an eye out for stops near the Huntington Beach State Park area. After about a 30-minute ride, get off at the 'Huntington Beach State Park' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles south along Atalaya Rd to reach Atalaya Castle.

  • Bicycle

    If you're comfortable biking, you can rent a bicycle at one of the many rental shops in Myrtle Beach. Start by heading south on Ocean Blvd until you reach 17th Ave S. Turn right and follow 17th Ave S until it intersects with Kings Hwy (US-17). Turn left on Kings Hwy and continue towards Murrells Inlet. When you reach the intersection with Atalaya Rd, turn right and follow Atalaya Rd for about 1 mile to reach Atalaya Castle.

    If you're up for a longer walk, start from the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Head south along Ocean Blvd until you reach 17th Ave S, and turn right. Continue walking until you reach Kings Hwy (US-17). Turn left and walk down Kings Hwy towards Murrells Inlet. After about 2 miles, turn right onto Atalaya Rd and continue walking for another mile to reach Atalaya Castle.
