Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From the central area of Myrtle Beach, head to the nearest bus stop for the Coast RTA public transportation system. Take Route 16 towards Socastee. The bus will take you along Highway 501. Make sure to check the Coast RTA schedule for the latest departure times. After about 20-30 minutes, you will arrive at the Socastee area. Get off at the nearest stop to Conway St, which is the street where the Socastee Historic District is located. From the bus stop, walk towards Conway St and follow the signs to the Historic District.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Myrtle Beach. Start your ride heading southwest on Ocean Blvd until you reach 17th Ave S. Turn left onto 17th Ave S and continue until you reach the intersection with Kings Hwy. Turn right onto Kings Hwy and then left onto 501. Follow the bike lanes or the side of the road, and keep an eye out for directions to Socastee. After about 4 miles, look for signs directing you to Conway St, where the Socastee Historic District is located.

  • Walking

    If you are up for a longer walk, starting from the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, head west towards Pine Ave. Walk straight until you reach Kings Hwy. Turn left on Kings Hwy and walk until you reach 501. From there, you can walk along the sidewalk towards the Socastee area. This will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. As you approach the area, look for Conway St, where the Socastee Historic District is located.
