Public Bus
To reach Sullivan's Island from Summerville, head to the nearest public bus stop, which is located at the intersection of Main Street and South Cedar Street. Board the CARTA bus route 10 (North Charleston to Sullivan's Island). The bus will take you towards the island. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the Sullivan's Island Town Hall. Once you get off, walk towards the beach, which is just a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.

Bike Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Summerville. Start your journey on Main Street heading south towards U.S. Highway 17. Once you reach Highway 17, turn left and continue riding until you reach the traffic circle. From there, take the exit for SC-703 South, which leads to Sullivan's Island. The ride is approximately 10 miles and will take about 45-60 minutes, depending on your pace. Follow the signs directing you to the island, and once you arrive, park your bike at one of the bike racks available near the beach.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to Sullivan's Island, although it’s quite a long distance (approximately 13 miles). Start on Main Street in Summerville and head towards U.S. Highway 17. Follow the highway south until you reach the entrance to Sullivan's Island. This route will take you through beautiful South Carolina landscapes. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The walk may take around 4-5 hours, so plan accordingly.
