Car
If you are driving, start from downtown Sandhills. Take the SC-48 E (also known as Two Notch Road) and head southeast. Continue on SC-48 E for approximately 10 miles. When you reach the intersection with US-1 S, merge onto US-1 S toward Augusta. After about 4 miles, take the exit onto I-77 S toward Columbia. Continue on I-77 S for about 5 miles until you reach exit 2 toward Cayce. At the exit, turn left onto Old State Road. The Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve will be on your right at 634 Old State Rd, Cayce, SC 29033. Look for a small parking area to the right of the preserve entrance.

Depending on your starting point in Sandhills, take the bus route that heads towards Columbia. You may need to transfer buses at the Columbia Transit Center to catch a bus heading to Cayce. Confirm the local schedule as bus frequencies may vary. Once you arrive in Cayce, disembark at the nearest stop to Old State Road. From there, it is about a 20-minute walk (about 1 mile) to reach the Congaree Creek Heritage Preserve. Head north on State St, then turn right onto Old State Rd, and the preserve will be on your left.
