If you are driving from the main visitor center in Congaree National Park, start by heading southwest on Old Bluff Rd. Continue for about 1 mile until you reach SC-48. Turn left onto SC-48 and drive for approximately 3 miles. You will then merge onto US-321 S. Follow US-321 S for about 5 miles. Take the exit toward Cayce and merge onto 12th St. Continue onto State St, which will take you into Cayce. You should see signs for Timmerman Trail, which is at the end of State St. Parking is available nearby.

Public transportation options to reach Timmerman Trail are limited, but you can take a bus from Columbia to Cayce. From the downtown Columbia bus station, board the bus heading toward Cayce. Once you arrive in Cayce, you can use local rideshare services like Uber or Lyft to complete the journey to Timmerman Trail. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as it may not run frequently. The bus fare is generally around $2-$3.

The path is approximately 7 miles long and should take about 30-45 minutes. Once you reach Cayce, continue toward Timmerman Trail, which is accessible from the Riverwalk.
