Car
From the Table Rock State Park entrance, head south on SC-11 for about 10 miles. Look for signs directing you to Sassafras Mountain Road, which will be on your left. Turn onto Sassafras Mountain Road and continue for approximately 5 miles. The road will lead you directly to the Sassafras Mountain Tower parking area. Note that there is no fee for parking at the tower.

Public Transportation and Hiking
There is no direct public transportation to Sassafras Mountain Tower. However, you can take a bus to the nearest town, Sunset, SC. From there, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to Sassafras Mountain Road. After arriving at Sassafras Mountain Road, it is about a half-mile hike uphill to the tower. Ensure you wear comfortable shoes and bring water for the hike.
