Getting There

• Car

  If you're within 50 kilometers of Badlands National Park and traveling by car, the easiest route is to take SD-34 E from your current location. Follow SD-34 E until you reach the intersection with SD-240, which is the main road leading into the park. Turn right onto SD-240, and follow the signs for the Badlands National Park entrance. Keep an eye out for park signage along the way. If using a GPS, enter the coordinates 43.8554, -102.3397 for the main entrance.

• Public Transportation

  While public transportation options are limited in South Dakota, you can take a Greyhound bus to either Wall or Rapid City. From Wall, you can hire a taxi or use a rideshare service to reach Badlands National Park, which is about 30 minutes away by car. If you are coming from Rapid City, look for local shuttle services that provide transportation to the park.
