Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving to Valley Of The Giants Trail from anywhere within Big Sioux Recreation Area, start by getting on SD-11 N. Follow SD-11 N for approximately 4 miles until you reach the intersection with I-90. Merge onto I-90 W and continue for about 3 miles. Take exit 406 for SD-34 toward Brandon. After exiting, turn left onto SD-34 E and drive about 1 mile. Then turn right onto Unnamed Road (the trailhead will be on your right after approximately 0.5 miles). There is no cost for parking at the trailhead.

• Public Transportation

  Public transportation options are limited in this area, but you can use the local bus service from Sioux Falls to Brandon. Check the schedule for the Sioux Area Metro bus service, which operates routes to Brandon. Once in Brandon, you may need to use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach the trailhead on Unnamed Road, as public transport may not take you directly there. Expect to pay approximately $15-$25 for the rideshare, depending on location and time.

• Biking/Walking

  If you're already within Big Sioux Recreation Area and prefer biking or walking, you can take the park's internal trails leading to the eastern exit of the park. Once you reach the exit, follow the path to SD-11 N and continue north until you can access Unnamed Road. Be cautious of traffic if walking or biking on the road. This option is free, but ensure you have enough water and supplies for your journey.
