Car
If you are starting from the Custer State Park Visitor Center, head southeast on US-16A towards US-16. After about 5 miles, merge onto US-16 and continue for approximately 7 miles. You will see signs for Keystone and the Scovel Johnson Tunnel. Keep an eye out for the scenic overlook signs. The tunnel is located just off US-16 Scenic, on the way to Keystone.

Public Transportation
Unfortunately, public transportation options within Custer State Park are limited. However, if you can get to the nearby town of Keystone via a shuttle or taxi from Custer State Park, you can walk to the Scovel Johnson Tunnel. From the center of Keystone, head northeast on US-16 Scenic. The tunnel is about a 10-minute walk from downtown Keystone. Look for the signs directing you to the tunnel.
