Start at the Custer County Courthouse located at 420 Mount Rushmore Road. Head south on Mount Rushmore Road for about two blocks until you reach the intersection with South Dakota Highway 16A. Turn left onto Highway 16A. Continue walking along Highway 16A for approximately 2 miles. You will see signs for Custer State Park. The Visitor Center is located at 13400 US-16A, Custer, SD 57730, on the right side of the road. The walk may take about 40 minutes, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes.
