Getting There

    From the center of Custer, head north on 5th Street toward the intersection with Mount Rushmore Road (SD-16). Turn right onto Mount Rushmore Road and continue to follow it as it becomes SD-87. After about 3 miles, you will reach the Needles Highway (SD-87). Continue on this road for approximately 7 miles. You will see signs for Needles Eye Tunnel.
