Walking
If you're in downtown Mitchell, start at the corner of Main Street and 1st Avenue. Head west on 1st Avenue for two blocks until you reach the intersection with West Havens Avenue. Turn left (south) onto West Havens Avenue. Continue walking for about six blocks until you reach the intersection with West University Avenue. Turn right (west) onto West University Avenue. The Dakota Discovery Museum will be on your left at 1200 W University Ave. It should take approximately 20-25 minutes to walk there.

If you prefer public transit, check the local bus schedule for routes that serve the area. Board a bus that heads towards the west side of Mitchell. Ask the driver to let you know when to get off for West University Avenue. Once you disembark, walk west on West University Avenue until you reach 1200 W University Ave, where the Dakota Discovery Museum is located. If you have access to a bike, you can cycle to the Dakota Discovery Museum. Start at the Mitchell City Park, located at the north end of Main Street. Head south on Main Street until you reach West Havens Avenue. Turn left (east) and then take a right (south) on West Havens Avenue. Continue until you hit West University Avenue, then turn left (east). The museum will be on your left at 1200 W University Ave. The bike ride should take around 10-15 minutes.
