Public Bus
From Mount Rushmore, walk to the nearest bus stop located by the visitor center. Take the Rapid City public bus (Route 7) towards Rapid City. The bus will take you through scenic routes. Disembark at the stop near the intersection of 5th St and Main St in Rapid City. From there, walk two blocks east on 5th St and then turn left on 6th St. Continue walking for one more block, and you will reach Elks Theatre at 512 6th St.
Shuttle Service
Check if there are any shuttle services offered by local hotels or tourist companies that provide a direct route from Mount Rushmore to Rapid City. If available, board the shuttle and inform the driver you want to visit Elks Theatre. The shuttle should drop you off close to the theater, typically on 6th St.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can hike from Mount Rushmore to Rapid City. Follow the trails leading to Highway 244 and head towards the town. The hike is approximately 30 miles and can take several hours. Once you arrive in Rapid City, navigate to 6th St by asking locals or using your phone to find directions. Keep in mind to bring water and snacks for the journey.
