Turn left onto US-16 and continue walking approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the bus stop for the public transit route to Rapid City. Board the bus heading to Rapid City. After about a 30-minute ride, disembark at the stop closest to the O'Harra Building. Walk southeast on E St Joseph St for about 0.2 miles to reach the Museum of Geology.

    From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center, take a short walk to the nearest bus stop for public transport to Rapid City. Board the bus heading towards Rapid City. The journey will take around 30 minutes. Once in Rapid City, disembark at the stop nearest to E St Joseph St. Walk southeast for about 0.2 miles, and you will arrive at the Museum of Geology, located in the O'Harra Building at 561 E St Joseph St.
