Walking
From the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center, head southeast on SD-244 E. After about 3.5 miles, you will reach the junction with US-16. Continue straight to stay on SD-244 E for another 1.5 miles. At the traffic circle, take the first exit onto SD-34 E, and continue for approximately 18 miles until you reach Rapid City. Once you enter the city, turn right onto Quincy St. The Rapid City Public Library will be on your left at 610 Quincy St.
Public Transportation
Start at the Mount Rushmore National Memorial visitor center. Take the Black Hills Central Railroad shuttle or a local bus service to Rapid City. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Rapid City, disembark at the downtown area. From there, walk east on Main St for two blocks, then turn left onto Quincy St. The Rapid City Public Library is located at 610 Quincy St, just a few steps down the street on your right.
