From Pine Ridge, head south on SD-27. Continue for about 18 miles until you reach the intersection with SD-44. Turn left onto SD-44 and drive for approximately 20 miles. You will pass through the town of Porcupine. The White River Visitor Center will be on your right as you approach the Badlands National Park area.
