If you are traveling by car, the easiest route to Palisades State Park from any location in West River is to take SD-34 E. Head east on SD-34 E for about 20 miles until you reach the intersection with SD-11. Turn left onto SD-11 N and follow it for approximately 5 miles. Then turn right onto 256th St, where you will see signs for Palisades State Park. Continue straight for about 2 miles until you reach the park entrance at 48422 256th St, Garretson, SD 57030. There is an entrance fee for vehicles, so be prepared for a nominal cost.

Taking public transportation is a bit more complicated as direct routes to Palisades State Park may not be available. First, check local bus services for routes to Garretson. From West River, you may need to travel to Sioux Falls and then take a bus towards Garretson. Once in Garretson, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the park, as it is about 6 miles away from the town center.
