Begin your walk along Geumnam-ro heading towards the intersection with Geumnamno 1(il)-ga. 5.18 Democracy Square is situated at this intersection. The square is a large open space dedicated to the 5.18 Gwangju Uprising, marked by significant monuments and a well-maintained park area. The walk should take around 10-15 minutes depending on your starting point in Dong-gu.

Find the nearest bus stop in Dong-gu. You can take bus numbers 518 or 90, which both have stops close to 5.18 Democracy Square. Board the bus and get off at the 'Geumnamno 1(il)-ga' stop. From there, it's a short walk – just a couple of minutes to reach the square. Be sure to have a T-money card for bus fare, which typically costs around 1,200 KRW.
