Getting there

Car

If you are driving, start from Gwangju, the largest city in the Honam Region. Take the Gwangju-Naju Expressway (Expressway 1) heading south. After approximately 40 kilometers, merge onto Route 23 towards Jangheung. Continue on Route 23 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Jangheung. From Jangheung, follow the signs to Yuchi-myeon. Borimsa is located at 45 Bongdeok-ri, Yuchi-myeon, which is about 10 kilometers from Jangheung. Look for signage directing you to the temple as you enter Yuchi-myeon. Parking is available at the temple.

Public Transportation

To reach Borimsa by public transportation, first take a bus from Gwangju Bus Terminal to Jangheung. The bus ride takes approximately 1 hour and costs around 5,000 KRW. Once you arrive at Jangheung, you can transfer to a local bus heading towards Yuchi-myeon. Board the bus, which typically runs every 30 minutes, and ride for about 30 minutes. You will need to get off at the stop for Bongdeok-ri. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to Borimsa. Ensure to check the bus schedules ahead of time, as they may vary.
