Getting There

  • Subway

    Take Line 3 (the Orange Line) from any station in Seoul to Anguk Station. Once you arrive at Anguk Station, use Exit 1. After exiting, walk straight for about 600 meters. You will pass by several shops and cafes. Keep an eye out for the Changdeokgung Palace entrance on your left, marked by a traditional gate.

  • Bus

    Find the nearest bus stop and take bus number 1111 or 7016. These buses frequently stop near Changdeokgung Palace. Get off at the 'Changdeokgung' stop. From the bus stop, walk about 200 meters towards Yulgok-ro. You will see the entrance to the palace on your right.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the Jongno area, you can walk to Changdeokgung. From Gyeongbokgung Palace, head east towards Yulgok-ro. It’s about a 15-minute walk. As you walk, enjoy the traditional architecture around you. Once you reach Yulgok-ro, turn left, and you will see the entrance to Changdeokgung Palace shortly after.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer to take a taxi, simply tell the driver 'Changdeokgung' or show them the address: 99 Yulgok-ro, Jongno District. It should be a short ride from most parts of central Seoul, and the fare will usually be reasonable.
