If you're traveling by car, from Málaga, take the A-45 highway towards Córdoba. After approximately 40 kilometers, take exit 104 towards Antequera. Follow the signs to Antequera, and upon entering the town, navigate to the city center. The Alcazaba is located at Plaza de los Escribanos, s/n, 29200 Antequera, Málaga. There is limited street parking available nearby, and you may need to pay a small fee depending on the location of the parking spot.
Public Transportation
To reach Alcazaba via public transportation from Málaga, start by taking a bus from the Estación de Autobuses de Málaga (Málaga Bus Station) to Antequera. Companies like ALSA operate this route, and the journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Antequera bus station, it is a 15-20 minute walk to Alcazaba. Head south on Calle del Parque, turn left onto Calle de la Cruz, and continue until you reach Plaza de los Escribanos, where the Alcazaba is located.
Train
If you prefer to travel by train, take a Renfe train from Málaga Centro Alameda to Antequera-Santa Ana station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Antequera-Santa Ana, you can take a taxi to Alcazaba, which is about a 15-minute ride and should cost around €10-15. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the station to the town center and then walk to Alcazaba as described in the public transportation section.
