From the center of Badajoz, make your way to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Badajoz. You can walk there in about 15 minutes from Plaza Alta. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket for Elvas, Portugal. Buses run regularly, so check the schedule for the next departure. The journey to Elvas takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Elvas bus station, exit and head towards the city center. You can either walk for approximately 15 minutes or take a local taxi to Largo Primeiro de Dezembro, where the Pelourinho de Elvas is located.

Head to the Badajoz train station, Estación de Badajoz. You can take a taxi or walk there, which takes about 20 minutes from Plaza Alta. At the train station, purchase a ticket to Elvas. Note that there are limited train services, so check the schedule ahead of time as the journey may take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Elvas station, exit and take a local taxi or walk approximately 15 minutes to Largo Primeiro de Dezembro, the location of Pelourinho de Elvas.

If you prefer to explore on foot, start from Plaza Alta in the heart of Badajoz. Head northeast on Calle de la Libertad, then turn right onto Calle José Recio. Continue until you reach Av. de Elvas, then follow the road north towards the border with Portugal. You will cross the border into Elvas, where the road becomes Rua de Alcamim. Follow this road until you reach Largo Primeiro de Dezembro. This route is scenic but may take approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes to walk.
