Car
If you're traveling by car, set your GPS to Llac de Formigosa, Querol, Tarragona (41.4153047, 1.4396181). From the town of Reus, take the C-14 road towards Montblanc. Continue on this road until you reach the junction with the N-240, where you will turn left. Follow the N-240 towards Valls, and then take the exit for the C-51 towards Querol. Drive through Querol and follow the signs to Llac de Formigosa. There is a parking area available near the lake, but make sure to arrive early during peak tourist seasons as it can fill up quickly.
Public Transportation
To reach Llac de Formigosa via public transportation, first take a train from Barcelona Sants station to the town of Valls. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once in Valls, take a local bus to Querol. The bus service may vary, so check the local schedule ahead of time. Upon arriving in Querol, you can either walk or take a taxi to Llac de Formigosa, which is approximately 6 kilometers away. Expect to pay around €10 for the taxi ride.
Hiking
For those who enjoy hiking, consider starting from the town of Querol. From the town center, follow the marked hiking trails that lead towards Llac de Formigosa. The hike is approximately 1.5 hours one way, so make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry enough water. The trails are well-marked and offer beautiful views of the surrounding Pyrenees landscape.
