Walking
If you are starting from the Girona Cathedral, head down the steps from the cathedral and turn right onto Carrer de la Força. Continue straight until you reach the Plaça de la Independència. From there, walk straight across the square, passing the restaurants and cafes. As you exit the square, continue straight onto Carrer de la Barca. Follow this street, and you will eventually see Plaça dels Mercaders on your left. It is a charming square where you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
Public Transport
If you are near the Girona Train Station, take Bus Line 5 towards Sant Daniel. Get off at the stop called 'Plaça de la Independència.' From there, walk straight across the square, then follow the instructions for walking from the plaza to Plaça dels Mercaders as described above. The bus ride is convenient and allows you to enjoy the sights along the way.
Bicycle
If you have rented a bicycle, start from the old town area near the Cathedral. Cycle towards Carrer de la Força and then to Plaça de la Independència. Once at the square, cycle straight across and continue onto Carrer de la Barca. Plaça dels Mercaders will be on your left. Biking is a great way to explore Girona and see more of the city quickly.
