From the center of Girona, head to the main bus station at Estació d'Autobusos de Girona. You can get there by walking for about 15 minutes from the Plaça de Catalunya. Once at the bus station, look for buses heading towards 'Sant Martí d'Empúries' or 'L'Escala'. The bus ride should take about 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Sant Martí d'Empúries stop, and from there, follow the signs to the beach and ruins.

If you are feeling adventurous and in good shape, you can walk to Sant Martí d'Empúries. Start from the Girona Cathedral and walk along the river through the scenic streets of the old town. Follow the path along the river until you reach the outskirts of the city. This will take you about 2-2.5 hours, covering roughly 20 kilometers. Make sure to stay hydrated and take breaks at the local parks along the way!
