Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Walking
From La Latina's central areas, walk toward Mercado de la Cebada (approximately 5–15 minutes depending on starting point). The market is a prominent landmark; follow local signage or ask locals for directions. Once inside, proceed to the upper level via internal stairs. Gelato Lab occupies stalls 173–176 on the upper floor. This is the most direct and atmospheric option.
Public Transport + Walking
Take Metro Line 5 toward Callao or Line A toward Opera, exiting at La Latina or Sol stations. From either station, walk toward Mercado de la Cebada (5–10 minutes). This option is efficient if you're traveling from distant parts of La Latina or arriving from outside the neighborhood.
Taxi or Ride-Share
Request a ride to Mercado de la Cebada, Calle de la Cebada, Madrid. The market has a recognizable entrance; drivers are familiar with the location. This option minimizes walking and is practical if carrying shopping or traveling with limited mobility.
Bicycle
La Latina's narrow medieval streets are challenging for cycling, but bike-sharing systems operate in Madrid. Park your bike at a nearby station and walk the final 2–5 minutes to the market. This combines flexibility with the neighborhood's pedestrian character.
