Buses to Mijas run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The journey takes around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Mijas, disembark at the main bus stop. Take the C1 train from Málaga Centro Alameda station towards Fuengirola. The train departs frequently, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Fuengirola station. From Fuengirola, head to the nearby bus stop and take a local bus that goes to Mijas. Buses to Mijas typically run every 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at Mijas, the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Málaga city center to Mijas. Taxis are readily available and can be hailed on the street or booked through an app. The drive takes about 30 minutes, and the taxi will take you directly to Av. del Compás, where the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña is located. This option is more expensive but offers convenience if you are traveling with luggage or in a group.
Walking
If you are already in Mijas, you can walk to the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña. Start from the Plaza de las Flores, which is a central point in Mijas. Head northeast on Calle de la Iglesia, then turn left onto Av. del Compás. Continue straight for about 500 meters, and you will see the Ermita de la Virgen de la Peña on your right. The walk takes about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
