Getting There
-
Walking
From the city center (Plaza de la Constitución), head towards Calle Larios. Walk straight down this pedestrian street until you reach the Plaza de la Merced, which is about a 10-minute walk. At the Plaza de la Merced, you will see the impressive statue of Pablo Picasso. From here, walk along Calle Granada, and when you reach the intersection with Calle Alamos, turn left. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of the Alcazaba. Instead of entering the Alcazaba, continue past it, and follow the signs leading to Castillo de Gibralfaro, which is located uphill. The walk will take approximately 20-30 minutes and involves a steep incline, so be prepared for a bit of a hike. The castle will be on your right as you ascend, and you will see the entrance.

Public Transport
From the main bus station (Estación de Autobuses de Málaga), take bus line 35 (Centro Histórico) towards the city center. Get off at the stop 'Alameda Principal' (about a 10-minute ride). From there, walk towards Plaza de la Constitución and then follow the directions provided for walking from the city center. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the bus station directly to the entrance of Castillo de Gibralfaro, which will take around 15 minutes.
