Walking
If you are in the center of Murcia, start at Plaza Circular. From there, head east on Avenida de la Libertad until you reach Plaza de Santo Domingo. Turn left onto Calle de Santo Domingo and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle del Aire. Turn right onto Calle del Aire and walk until you reach the Plaza de la Merced. From Plaza de la Merced, head towards Calle de la Caridad and continue straight until you reach the bus station (Estación de Autobuses de Murcia). From the bus station, take the bus line 40 towards Cartagena. Get off at the stop 'Plaza de España' in Cartagena. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Plaza Ayuntamiento. Just head east on Calle Real and continue straight until you reach Plaza Ayuntamiento.
Public Transport
From the main bus station (Estación de Autobuses de Murcia), take a direct bus to Cartagena. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Once you arrive in Cartagena, exit the bus station and head towards the city center. You can walk or take bus line 1 towards 'Paseo de Alfonso XIII' and get off at the 'Plaza de España' stop. From there, walk east on Calle Real for about 10 minutes until you reach Plaza Ayuntamiento.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any location in Murcia to Plaza Ayuntamiento in Cartagena. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Plaza Ayuntamiento, Cartagena'. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before getting in, or ask the driver to use the meter.
Bicycle
If you enjoy cycling, you can rent a bike in Murcia and take the dedicated bike path towards Cartagena. Start from the city center and follow the bike lanes until you reach the outskirts of Murcia, then follow signs directing you towards Cartagena. The distance is about 50 kilometers, and it might take you around 2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace. Once you arrive in Cartagena, park your bike and walk towards Plaza Ayuntamiento.
