The Majestic Old Cathedral of Cartagena

Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Murcia, head to the Estación de Autobuses (Bus Station) located at Avenida de la Libertad. Look for buses heading to Cartagena, which are frequent throughout the day. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arriving at the Cartagena bus station, exit the station and head southeast on Avenida de la Libertad. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto Calle del Cuerpo de Ejército. Follow this road until it intersects with Calle Segundilla, where you will find the Old Cathedral of Cartagena at number 7.

• Train

  Make your way to the Murcia del Carmen train station located at Calle del Carmen. Take a train towards Cartagena, which runs frequently and takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Cartagena train station, exit the station and turn left onto Avenida de la Libertad. Walk straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the first exit onto Calle del Cuerpo de Ejército. Continue straight until you reach Calle Segundilla, where you will find the Old Cathedral of Cartagena at number 7.

• Walking

  If you are already in Cartagena, you can easily walk to the Old Cathedral. Start from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, head east along Calle Mayor until you reach the intersection with Calle del Cuerpo de Ejército. Turn right and continue straight until you reach Calle Segundilla. The Old Cathedral will be on your left at number 7. The walk takes around 15-20 minutes depending on your pace.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hail a taxi from anywhere in Cartagena. Simply tell the driver to take you to C. Segundilla, 7, where the Old Cathedral of Cartagena is located. The fare should be reasonable and the journey will typically take around 5-10 minutes depending on traffic.
