Getting There

• Bus

  From Oviedo, head to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Oviedo, located at Avenida de Fernández Ladreda, 6. You can take bus line 7 or 8 towards 'Gijón'. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the bus stop 'Gijón - Plaza de Europa'. Once there, transfer to the bus line that goes to 'Oviñana' (check local schedules as they may vary). The journey will take around 45 minutes. Make sure you tell the driver you want to go to Oviñana, where Cueva de la Iglesiona is located.

• Train and Bus

  From Oviedo, take a train from Estación de Renfe Oviedo, heading towards 'San Esteban de Pravia'. This journey will take about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at San Esteban de Pravia, exit the train station and look for the local bus service that goes to 'Oviñana'. Depending on the schedule, this may involve a short wait, and the bus ride should take approximately 30 minutes to reach Oviñana. Upon arriving in Oviñana, follow signs or ask locals for directions to Cueva de la Iglesiona, which is a notable attraction in the area.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Oviedo. Start by heading towards the 'El Parque de Invierno' and follow the designated cycling paths. The route to Oviñana is approximately 30 km and should take around 2-3 hours depending on your cycling speed. As you cycle, enjoy the beautiful Asturian countryside. Upon reaching Oviñana, follow signs to Cueva de la Iglesiona or ask local residents for the best route to the cave.

• Walking

  If you're up for a long walk, you could set out from Oviedo to Oviñana on foot. The distance is approximately 30 km, and it would take about 6-8 hours depending on your pace. Start by heading towards the outskirts of the city, following the signs for the N-634 road. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks for the journey. Once you reach Oviñana, look for signs directing you to Cueva de la Iglesiona, or ask locals for directions.
