Getting There

  • Bus

    From Oviedo city center, head to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Oviedo, located at Calle José Aguado. You can take a local bus (lines 1, 3, or 5) to Gijón. The bus ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Gijón, get off at the bus station: Estación de Autobuses de Gijón.

    After arriving at the Gijón bus station, exit and walk straight down Calle de la Avenida de la Argentina. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle de Manuel Llaneza. Turn left onto Calle de Manuel Llaneza, and then take the first right onto Calle de la Playa. Follow this road until you reach Playa de Poniente. The beach is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station.

    Alternatively, from the Gijón bus station, you can take the tram. Head to the nearest tram stop, which is a short walk from the bus station. Take Line 1 towards 'Cerro de las Fausas' and get off at the 'Playa de San Lorenzo' stop. From there, you can walk along the promenade towards Playa de Poniente, which is about a 20-minute walk along the coast.
