Travel Guide to Santa María la Real, Olite

Getting There

• Bus

  From Pamplona city center, head to the main bus station, Estación de Autobuses de Pamplona, located at Calle Yanguas y Miranda, 2. You can walk there or take a local bus. Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket to Olite at the ticket counter or vending machines. The buses to Olite run regularly, so check the schedule for the next departure. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Olite bus station, exit the station and turn left onto Calle de la Estación. Follow this road until you reach Plaza Carlos III El Noble. From there, Santa María la Real is just a short walk away.

• Train

  To travel by train, head to the Pamplona train station located at Avenida de San Ignacio, 3. You can walk or take a local bus to reach the station. At the train station, purchase a ticket to Olite. Be sure to check the train schedule ahead of time as trains may not run frequently. The train ride to Olite typically takes around 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Olite train station, exit and walk towards the town center. Head towards Plaza Carlos III El Noble, where Santa María la Real is located, just a few blocks from the station.

• Walking and Public Transport Combination

  If you prefer a combination of walking and public transport, you can first take a local bus to the city of Tafalla. From Pamplona, catch any bus heading to Tafalla from the bus station. After arriving in Tafalla, transfer to a bus heading to Olite. The total travel time may vary but expect it to take about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Olite, follow the signs to Plaza Carlos III El Noble. Santa María la Real is located at the square, making it easy to find.
