Bus
From the center of San Sebastián, head to the bus station (Estación de Autobuses de San Sebastián) located at Avenida de la Libertad, 1. You can take the Lurraldebus bus line E21 towards Hondarribia. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Hondarribia bus station, exit the station and head south onto Calle de la Paz. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach Kalea Uria Harresia. The San Nikolas Gate will be on your left.
Train
From San Sebastián, go to the Amara train station (Estación de Amara) located at Calle de la Estación, 2. Take the Euskotren train towards Hendaye. After a short 15-minute ride, get off at the Hondarribia station. From the train station, walk south on Calle de la Paz for about 15 minutes, then turn left onto Kalea Uria Harresia. The San Nikolas Gate will be ahead on your left.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from various rental shops in the city. Start from the city center and follow the bike lanes towards the coast, heading east along the beach promenade (Paseo de la Concha). Continue along the coastal path to Hondarribia, which will take approximately 40-50 minutes. Once you reach Hondarribia, follow signs to the town center. Kalea Uria Harresia is a short ride from the coastal path, and the San Nikolas Gate will be on your left.
Walking
If you enjoy walking, you can take a leisurely stroll from San Sebastián to Hondarribia, which is about 8 km. Start at the beach promenade (Paseo de la Concha) and head east towards the border with France. Follow the path along the coast, taking in the views for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you reach Hondarribia, navigate to Calle de la Paz, then turn left onto Kalea Uria Harresia. The San Nikolas Gate will be on your left.
