Starting from the heart of Parte Vieja, make your way towards Plaza de la Constitución. From there, head towards the waterfront by following the street Calle 31 de Agosto until you reach the beach. Once at the beach, continue along the promenade (Paseo de la Concha) towards the west until you reach the base of Mount Urgull. Look for the signs directing you to the footpath that leads up to Motako Gaztelua. The path is well-marked, but be prepared for a steep ascent. The walk will take about 30 minutes, and you'll be rewarded with stunning views along the way.

Public Transport (Bus)
While walking is the most direct and scenic way to reach Motako Gaztelua, you could also take a local bus. Head to the nearest bus stop, which can be found near Plaza de la Constitución. Look for bus lines that head towards the 'San Jerónimo' area. You can take the L1 or L2 lines. The fare is approximately €1.50. Once you get off at the nearest stop to Motako Gaztelua, follow the signs to the castle. The bus ride will take around 10-15 minutes, but keep in mind that you will still have to walk a short distance to reach the castle.
