Getting There

Walking
If you are at the Tarragona Cathedral (Catedral de Tarragona), exit the cathedral grounds and head east on Carrer de la Cort. Continue straight until you reach the Plaça de la Font. From there, turn left onto Carrer de Santa Anna and walk until you reach Carrer de la Unió. Turn right onto Carrer de la Unió and continue straight until you reach the Plaça de la Vila. Finally, head east along Carrer de la Vila until you reach the train station. At the station, take the R4 train towards Manresa, and get off at Vilafranca del Penedès station. From the station, head north on Carrer de la Ràpita until you reach Plaça de Jaume I, where the Basílica de Santa Maria is located.

From the Tarragona city center, head to the main bus station (Estació d'Autobusos de Tarragona). You can walk to the bus station from the Plaça de la Font by taking Carrer de Santa Anna until you reach Carrer de Pau Casals, then turn left to the bus station. Once at the bus station, look for the bus line that goes to Vilafranca del Penedès (check the schedules as they may vary). Get on the bus and enjoy the ride. The journey takes about 45 minutes. When you arrive in Vilafranca del Penedès, exit the bus and walk north towards Plaça de Jaume I, where the Basílica de Santa Maria is located.

From Tarragona, walk to the Tarragona train station (Estació de Tarragona). You can get there by heading northwest from the Plaça de la Font along Carrer de Santa Anna until you reach Carrer de la Unió, then continue straight to the station. At the train station, purchase a ticket for the R4 train towards Manresa. Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at Vilafranca del Penedès station, then exit the station and head north along Carrer de la Ràpita until you reach Plaça de Jaume I, where the Basílica de Santa Maria is situated.
