Walking
If you are in the central part of Tarragona, start at the Plaça de la Font, a popular square with numerous cafes and restaurants. From the square, head southeast towards Carrer de la Unió. Turn right onto Carrer de la Unió and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Carrer de Sant Agustí. Turn left onto Carrer de Sant Agustí, and follow it until you reach the Roman Amphitheatre. Continue past the amphitheatre, and you will see signs for the archaeological park. Follow the signs leading you to Pg. Arqueològic. After a short walk, you will arrive at Portal del Carro, located along this picturesque street.
Public Transport
If you prefer to use public transport, head to the nearest bus stop, which is ‘Pl. de la Font’. Board the bus number 3 or 6, which are both heading towards the Tarragona train station. Alight at the stop ‘Carrer de la Unió’. From there, walk east on Carrer de la Unió, turn left onto Carrer de Sant Agustí, and follow the path to the Roman Amphitheatre. Continue past the amphitheatre and look for signs towards Pg. Arqueològic. Portal del Carro will be along this road.
