Travel Guide to Monastery of Santa Maria

Getting There

• Metro

  Start your journey at the central station, Estación de Xàtiva (Metro Line 3 or 5). Take the Metro towards 'Rafelbunyol' and get off at the 'El Puig' station. The journey takes about 25 minutes. Exit the station and head north on Carrer del Carrer de la Mare de Déu de la Soledat, then turn right onto Carrer de la Mare de Déu de la Soledat. Continue straight until you reach the Monastery of Santa Maria, which will be on your left in about a 10-minute walk.

• Bus

  Catch the bus number 112 from the 'Estació del Nord' bus station in Valencia. The bus departs regularly and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to reach El Puig. Disembark at the 'El Puig' bus stop. From there, walk south along Carrer de la Mare de Déu de la Soledat until you reach the Monastery of Santa Maria, which is about a 15-minute walk.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Valencia. Take the bike path along the Turia River and head toward El Puig. The ride will take about 45 minutes. Once you arrive in El Puig, navigate towards Carrer de la Mare de Déu de la Soledat, where the Monastery of Santa Maria is located. It's about a 10-minute ride from the town center to the monastery.

• Walking

  For those who enjoy walking, you can start at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento in Valencia. From there, walk towards Carrer de la Paz and continue until you reach the Turia River. Follow the river path until you reach the 'El Puig' area. This is a longer trek, approximately 1.5 hours, but you'll enjoy scenic views along the way. Once in El Puig, head towards Carrer de la Mare de Déu de la Soledat, where the Monastery of Santa Maria awaits.
